About me

I’ve worked in daily news, investigations, talk, serialized narrative, comedy, and more. I’m fluent in digital and broadcast.

As Managing Editor of WNYC Studios, I developed and edited some of the industry’s most acclaimed podcasts, including La Brega, More Perfect, Blindspot: Tulsa Burning and The Road to 9/11, Nancy, A Piece of Work, and many others. Before that, I served as Executive Producer for public radio’s premier arts and culture program, Studio 360 with Kurt Andersen, setting the show on course for the digital-first era.

I started recording interviews as a Watson Fellow in India and Spain, researching the origins of flamenco dance. I cut my teeth in journalism at Chicago Public Radio, where I filed stories on culture, politics, technology, and the environment for WBEZ News, NPR's Morning Edition, PRI's The World, and more.

Blindspot: Tulsa Burning won a duPont-Columbia Award and an NAACP Image Award. Nancy was named one of the Best Podcasts of the Year by TIME, The Guardian, Esquire, and Entertainment Weekly; More Perfect also made the lists at The New York Times, TIME, The Atlantic, and Quartz. Embrace Everything won Webby, Signal, Davey, and New York Festivals awards.

My work has been also been honored by the RTNDA, SPJ, the Third Coast International Audio Festival, the Chicago Headline Club, and the New York AP, among others. I've been awarded fellowships in digital media by USC-Annenberg and ONA-Poynter.

Teaching & Speaking

I serve as a Coach for Digital Women Leaders, and have mentored podcast makers, audio producers, and emerging digital leaders through various industry events and forums, including AIR’s SoundPath, Third Coast, and the WNYC Podcast Accelerator. I’ve shared my approach to building sustainable creative production processes through speaking engagements, including Design Thinking for Radio at PRPD. I’ve also lectured about audio and sound design at Brown University, New York University’s Journalism Institute, and at my alma mater, Kenyon College.
